Trattoria Palle d’Oro

In the district of San Lorenzo, there is the restaurant “Palle d’Oro”, in the central “Via S.Antonino”, run for almost one hundred years by the same family, now in the fourth generation in the management of the same.

This tradition now keeps going on: you can eat, standing or sitting at a counter and You can choose a sandwich with tripe, lampredotto, sliced, or an excellent Tuscan crostino. At noon, comes the “i’vuota pentole” as they say because of the ringing of the bells of the basilica of S. Lorenzo, and then you can also sit at the tables where you can enjoy dishes of typical Florentine and Tuscan cuisine, at very reasonable prices. There are Tuscan appetizers, ribollita, pappa al pomodoro, first courses with wild boar and mushrooms, risotto with lampredotto and black cabbage. There are also mixed boiled meats, Florentine steak, tripe, the “peposo dell’impruneta”, “Livornese cod” or sausage and beans “all’uccelletto” and all served with a jovial welcoming in Florentine style.
