Things are heating up for the fifth edition of “Un’altra estate”, the initiative by the Region of Tuscany and the daily Il Terreno, with support from Toscana Promozione Turistica and a collaboration with Fondazione Sistema Toscana, Vetrina Toscana and FEISCT, which aims to valorize the coast and islands of Tuscany as a tourist destination and promote its food and wine products.
As in the previous editions, the villages dotting the Tuscan coast and surrounding areas will host the program’s seven events, offering a uniquely beautiful background with their piazzas as they contribute to the promotion of local recipes and products. The itinerary travels down the coast and includes a trip inland: Giglio Island, with its views and beauty, will inaugurate the program, before things move to medieval Camaiore, Casciana Terme and its hot springs, Lamporecchio and the unmistakable aroma of its sweet brigidino, Lajatico and its special rapport with the arts, the ancient Etruscan territory of Bibbona and, lastly, the beauty of another island, Marina di Campo on Elba, with its flavours of the sea.
Food takes centre stage as it narrates local flavours and traditions, which together with the nature and culture of these areas offer a thousand different ways to satisfy the many needs of the modern tourist. Tastings and entertainment, guest institutions and experts on the territory all recount curiosities, stories, anecdotes and tips to experience Tuscany through its flavours and characteristics.
Prior to the events, 30-minute guided walks and visits to unusual places and interesting museum will be offered, each strictly tied to the evening’s theme. The events will take place in the early evening, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
Along with the tastings, there will also be an information area with promotional materials and personnel available to answer questions about the surrounding territory.

The program begins on July 18 on Giglio Island. The following stops will be on July 25 in Camaiore, August 1 in Casciana Terme, August 8 in Lamporecchio, August 22 in Lajatico, August 29 in Bibbona and September 5 on Elba Island (Marina di Campo nell’Elba).
