Ristorante Fiorentino in Sansepolcro, has entered the Michelin Guide’s BIB Gourmand circle: a recognition identified by a smiling face, licking its moustache, which signifies a restaurant that promises an enjoyable gastronomic experience, with a complete menu coming to less than €35.

The news was revealed with a Facebook post from chef Alessia Uccelini who, seeing to one home delivery after another, found time to open a package that came through her postbox. Inside was the surprise: the badge conferred upon only 200 restaurants in all Italy.

Ristorante Fiorentino, a member of the Vetrina Toscana network, is more than 200 years old. The dining rooms, on the first floor of a palazzo, are bursting with elegance and decoration, while the service is pleasantly informal and jovial. Th cuisine is traditional of inland Tuscany: the menu is not lacking in maltagliati pasta with zucchini flowers, ravioli with cherry tomatoes and caciotta cheese, pigeon with olives, or lattaiolo.
