Our history as restauranteurs goes back a long way. In the mid-1950s, grandparents Elisa and Domenico set up the restaurant in the centre of Caprese Michelangelo, just a short distance from where the famous artist was born.
At that time, the care and attention given to preparing traditional food was at its peak and those same recipes can still be sampled today at the “Buca di Michelangelo”. We, the third generation of restauranteurs, grew up surrounded by food and the hospitality business. In 2007, we decided to take over Il Cerro, which had already been open for years, and give it our own particular stamp. We combine a knowledge of traditional food with innovation and imagination.
