Trattoria-pizzeria Il Pallaio was born in 1984 in the same corner of Campo di Marte – between viale Malta and via Calvi – where the early 20th-century ‘Café La Guerrina’ once stood, with a wonderful garden where we once played bocce.

A stone’s throw from the Artemio Franchi stadium and the Mandela Forum, Il Pallaio is a meeting place for everyone, from the employee to the manager, the singer or sportsman, after a game or concert, but also for a lunch or dinner with friends. A friendly and cheerful atmosphere welcomes customers with a smile and an easygoing air that has always been characterized as local.

We are open every day for lunch and dinner and we offer typical Italian dishes, deeply linked to Tuscany’s best products.

Il Pallaio’s wine list is always a careful and well-selected selection with over 200 labels.

Il Pallaio offers its customers a simple and genuine cuisine in a homely and welcoming atmosphere that is able to meet all needs, with special attention to vegans and vegetarians.

TAGLIERE DI FORMAGGI, PERE E MIELE AMARO  
…al contadino non far sapere quanto è buono il cacio con le pere…l’antica saggezza non si sbagliava certo e lo potete apprezzare in questo piatto semplice ma estremamente gratificante per il palato.

Bruschetta di cavolo nero

POLENTINE AI FUNGHI        
Un mazzetto di rucola appena piccante fa’ da letto alla polenta calda, tagliata a fettine, fritta al momento e coperta da una lauta porzione di funghi trifolati.

FANTASIA DI CROSTINI        
Cos’è meglio per iniziare di un bel piatto di crostini misti? Con la fantasia ne potete assaggiare: uno coi fagioli, uno al pomodoro, uno coi funghi e non poteva certo mancare quello ai fegatini.

CROSTINI ALL’ANTICA          

Eccoli i crostini della tradizione toscana. I fegatini di pollo, qualche cappero e un paio di acciughine, continuano a perpretare la bontà di questo patè.

TAGLIERE DELLO ZIO NANNI

Un piatto in cui è riunito insieme il sapore pieno e penetrante della sbriciolona,  la freschezza delle verdure grigliate e il gusto forte del pecorino.

TIPICO AFFETTATO TOSCANO   
Nel rispetto della più saporita tradizione toscana i nostri salumi: il prosciutto, non dolcissimo e leggermente salato, il salame, la sbriciolona, il lardo delle nostre montagne e la soprassata.

First courses

MEZZE MANICHE ALLA BUTTERA
Old genuine flavors are found in this dish. Good sausage, savoury black olives, tomato sauce and pecorino cheese.

SPAGHETTI ALLA CHECCA
Nothing is more simple yet tastier than spaghetti with tomato sauce, enriched and cooked to order with a good sprinkling of fresh pecorino.

SOFFOCONI ALLA LOLA
Pancetta browned in a pan flavours this abundant tomato sauce. Pecorino is the grand finale of this really fulfilling dish. For non-lovers of al dente pasta, request it over cooked.

PICI CACIO E PEPE
Dish of the Crete Senesi. A pasta with a distinctive traditional condiment that is an utter success.

SPAGHETTI ALLA VERSILIESE
Spaghetti with seafood full of mussels, squid and prawns, prawn, and after cooking, a handful of fragrant parsley.

Meat and fish

TAGLIATA DI TACCHINO AGLI AROMI
Great for those who want to keep an eye on fat. Turkey is a lean meat whose flavour is enhanced by the chopped herbs.

GRAN GRIGLIATA MAIALONA
A very rich main. Sausage, ribs, bacon and steak, all of which is grilled and finished in the oven. A great satisfaction.

TAGLIATA DI MANZO ALLE ERBE AROMATICHE
One of the highlights of the Tuscan cuisine. The cut of beef is strictly rare, tender and flavoured with flavoured oil made with rosemary or sage, salt and pepper.

GRAN MISTO DI TAGLIATE
It won’t be hard to find someone to eat this with you! The delicacy of the turkey, the juiciness of the pork and the kingship of the beef in a dish that is satisfying at first sight.

LA FIORENTINA ALL’ANTICA MANIERA
The most famous dish in Florentine cooking: a slice of beef at least two fingers thick, left strictly rare to enhance the tenderness and flavour.
