The family who run the hotel and restaurant have over 100 years of experience in the hospitality trade in Lunigiana region. Sandro Pietrini brought this small hotel back to life in Monzone, near Fivizzano. The restaurant/hotel is far from hustle, bustle and chaos and is located between the Apuan Alps, the thermal spa at Equi, the Magra Valley and the coast. The hotel has been recently renovated and now has five bedrooms. It’s the perfect base from which to enjoy a quiet week in the Lunigiana region. The area is one of peaceful, green countryside with chestnut woods and the Lucido river which flows nearby.
The jewel in the Pietrini crown is the restaurant, which serves traditional dishes mainly based around game meat and mushrooms. Visitors staying at the hotel find it the perfect location to visit Lunigiana, the Cinque Terre, Lucca and Pisa (a 40 minute drive away) – but they also don’t easily forget the food served here. There are ten speciality starters and first courses dishes which include venison lasagne and taglierini pasta in minestrone. Second course dishes include steak with balsamic vinegar and desserts include homemade tarts.
