Ammondonostro serves dishes typical to the Lucca area and also has several gluten-free options. It was opened on 19th May 2008 and is in the heart of Lucca’s old town in via della Fratta 22, between Piazza San Francesco and the Roman ampitheatre. There is an elegant and modern dining room and an outdoors dining area in a pretty courtyard behind the restaurant. The restaurant offers a wide selection of top-quality local and regional dishes, which is why it is part of Vetrina Toscana. The menu includes fresh homemade pasta and quick-cooked daily specials – all served with fresh, traditional sauces. The second course meat and fish dishes are made from historic local recipes which are prepared with simplicity and flavour. With such a range of dishes, there’s something for everyone. Desserts are all homemade. The restaurant has been certified by the Italian Coeliac Association thanks to its skillfully-made and numerous gluten-free dishes.
