Mediterranean fish interpreted in a gourmet pizza key. Students from Hotelier Institutes trying their hand at shared menus. Cooking lessons on Maremma Tortello, or the philosophy of 4-handed menus adapted to signature sandwiches. These are some of the novelties for the next intense season of Girogustando, the review of gastronomic events conceived by Confesercenti, which for some time now has stood out among the declinations of Vetrina Toscana, the project of the Region and Unioncamere Toscana that promotes restaurants and workshops that use local products. This autumn it will animate the provinces of Grosseto and Siena, attracting chefs from various parts of Italy. The start will be on Tuesday September 5 in Marina di Grosseto, with Moby Dick hosting Saporé Prato: together they will give life to a vertical tasting of gourmet pizzas, including the famous “crunch” and “double crunch” of the restaurant in Prato, in which a very crispy texture is the result of type 1 stone-ground flour, a mixed leavening dough (natural and Living Sour Dough) and high hydration. Ten days later, on September 15, the first of the spin-off events for the next season of Girogustando: at Casa Livia in Grosseto a “cooking lesson” entirely dedicated to the Maremma tortello. The autumn will also see the start of the Sienese part of the review: on Thursday September 21 in Montepulciano, Poggiardelli Restaurant (making its debut in the review) will host L’antica Locanda di Noci (Bari), in southern Murgia.

In the lands of Siena, during the autumn of 2023 with Girogustando will offer nine evenings of “four hands” in addition to two cooking lessons, during which aspiring chefs of tomorrow will interpret two of the shared menus proposed to the public the evening before. The last stage will be on December 13, when Fuoriluogo will host the Boccaccio Eno-restaurant of Gavorrano (Grosseto) in San Gimignano. In between, there will be seven other pairings between Sienese restaurants and those coming from Lazio, Calabria, Romagna and three Tuscan provinces. There will also be nine “Girogustando” events in the Maremma between September and November: closing in innovative form on November 16 with Livorno’s l’Apetito and Grosseto’s 13 Gobbi to create original four hands gourmet sandwiches.

As was already the case in the first part of the year, Girogustando in the Siena area will be made possible thanks to Confesercenti Siena with the patronage of the Municipality of Siena and the contribution of the Chamber of Commerce of Siena Arezzo, Unioncamere Toscana and the Region of Tuscany, through the Vetrina Toscana project; event sponsors are Pasquini, Etruria Retail, Banca Mediolanum, Enegan green partner and Assicoop Toscana, partner Alleanza Territoriale Carbon Neutrality Siena, ITC Bandini of Siena, the Chianti Colli Senesi Consortium, Fisar Siena Valdelsa. In Maremma, on the other hand, the commitment will involve Cat Confesercenti Toscana, with Confesercenti Grosseto, and the Maremma and Tyrrhenian Chamber of Commerce.  All menus, booking procedures and other info at
